Tasting Date: 9th May, 2006.
Venue: Home

Name of Wine: Valentino Paladin Lison Pramaggiore DOC Refosco 750ml
Vintage: 2004
Region: Lison-Pramaggiore, Veneto

Country: Italy
Alcohol level: 12%
Cost: HK$150 (From Citysuper)

The wine is clear, opague & vibrant purple colour. A very young wine showing a light purple rim, fairly viscous with a few legs. Nose is clean. Giving medium-intensity, very youthful aromas. Black fruit aroma dominant, plummy, floral & perfumed, with a hint of herbaceouness. In the mouth it is off-dry, sufficient crispiness, medium level of soft & plesant tannins. Very balanced with a medium-body & a medium fruit intensity. Plenty of blackcherries & plums & slightly chocolatey. Quite a high alcohol but a medium length lingers. Grape variety: Refosco The wine is very fruity, almost like grape juice, with good acidity, which may be able to be kept for another 2 to 3 years, but the best is to drink now. Not a very complicated wine, but excellent for food matching. Suggest chilling it slightly for a good quaff in this hot summer days.
