The wine is clear, with a deep ruby colour. It has a purple rim & a few legs. Nose is clean, pronounced & youthful. Complex fruity aromas such as blackcurrant & rose petals with hints of vanilla, plum & perfume. Dry, crispy, with medium-level of soft tannins. Medium-full bodied, medium intensity of flavours. Blackfruit flavours, blackcurrants, blackcherries, very flowery, oaky, with a hint of spice & sweetness. Medium level of alcohol, medium length. Grape variety: Merlot & Cab Sau & Cab Franc blend. It is at peak now but still can be kept for around 3 yrs' time. A commercial everyday drinking wine, mid-priced of good quality.

19/1/06 Tutored Tasting - Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2003

The wine is clear, with a medium ruby colour. It gives a pink (Louis - purple) rim & has a few legs. It has a clean, light-intensity. An aged bouquet, yet still fruity, mainly red fruit (raspberry). Apparently there were some traditional dusty aroma. Some medicinal, mushroom, dried prunes were noticed. On palate it's dry, crispy, with medium level soft tannin, light-medium bodied, medium fruit intensity. Red fruit, mainly redcurrant, & a hint of wet leaves. Medium alcohol, & medium length. Grape varieties: Pinot Noir. It is at peak now, but still can keep for another 1 to 2 yrs. Quality: average.

The wine is clear, with a medium ruby colour. It gives a purple rim & has a few legs. It has a clean, medium-intensity, youthful aroma. Fruity, with plenty of red fruit, candy, bubble-gum. On palate it's dry, medium-acidic, with a low level of soft tannin, light bodied, medium fruit intensity. Very fruity, abundant red fruit, roses, cherry, a hint of liquorice (Grape skin peel by Louis). Low to medium alcohol, & short length. Grape varieties: Gamay. The wine has gone through carbonic maceration for the fruitiness & low tannin. It is at peak now, need to drink soon. A mid-priced wine. Quality: average.

The wine is bright, with a medium gold colour. It gives a broad watery rim & a few legs. It has a clean, medium-intensity, & an aged bouquet. It has a cinnamon, spicy, vanilla (probably due to oak-aged), & fig aroma. On palate it is dry & crispy, medium-bodied, with a medium fruit intensity. It has a peachy, cinnamon,nutty, mainly almond flavour. The wine gave medium alcohol & medium length. The wine is made from Chardonnay, with obvious malo-lactic fermentation process. The wine can be consumed now, but still can be kept for another 3 - 6yrs. It is a high-priced wine & it's good.

The wine is clear, with a pale lemon green colour. It gives a narrow watery rim & a few legs. It has a clean, medium-intensity, but not a very fruity nose. It has a smokey, citrus, minty, vegetal, peary & vanilla aroma. On palate it is dry & crispy, light-bodied, with a light fruity intensity. It doesn't have a very complicated flavour when it gets into the mouth, with some citrus & pear, slightly perfumed. Medium alcohol & medium length. While the wine is from Pouilly-Fuisse, it is apparently made from Chardonnay, with some oak ageing treatment. The wine can be consumed now, with approximately 1 - 2 more years cellaring time. It is a mid-priced wine & it's good.
